EJ12 Book Trailer Mega-Comp: Competition Details and Entry Requirements
It’s here! The first ever EJ12 mega-comp has now been launched! You get to tell us what your favourite EJ12 Girl Hero book is and why by making your own book trailer, and we get to give out prizes to the best entries! It’s a win win!
After you have chosen your favourite book, you can make a trailer for it anyway you like – as a book report, an interview, a short film, a cartoon. You can choose to act in it or not too – it’s completely up to you! Take a look at our sample book trailers for inspiration.
Because we are very serious about internet safety you will need to follow the conditions of entry below to submit your trailer. Make sure you have your parent’s permission to enter the competition and their help to upload the video before you go ahead too.
Conditions of Entry
The Competition
Competition Opens: 25 February 2012
Competition Closes: 31 May 2012
The competition is to make a trailer of your favourite EJ12 Girl Hero book.
- The trailer must be longer than 1 minute, but no longer than 3 minutes.
- The trailer must be in a format that can be uploaded to YouTube.
- The trailer can take any form you want – you can act out a scene, make an advertisement, a cartoon, a news report or a book review for example.
- You don’t have to appear in the trailer if you don’t want to, or if your parents don’t want you to – you can just use voice-overs.
Use your imagination!
The winner will be decided by the number of people that vote for it on the EJ12 Girl Hero Team Youtube Channel. The EJ12 Girl Hero Team will also award five special Judges’ Prizes to entries of merit.
Prizes
The video with the most votes will receive:
- a school visit by Susannah McFarlane to their school;
- a complete set of signed EJ12 Girl Hero books, including the as yet unreleased Book 13 for both themselves and their school library;
- an EJ12 Girl Hero Secret Journal;
- and a SHINE Hoodie from the EJ12 Girl Hero Shop.
The five Judges’ Prize winners will receive:
- two EJ12 Girl Hero Gift boxes;
- an EJ12 Girl Hero Secret Journal;
- and a signed copy of EJ12 Girl Hero Book 14.
Your Privacy
The EJ12 Girl Hero Team takes your privacy very seriously. It is important that you practice good internet safety and follow the rules of the competition. You can only enter your trailer with the permission of your parent or guardian. No surnames or names of schools should be used in the trailers. If you are making a trailer with a group of friends, make sure that everyone has permission from their parents to be involved.
How to Enter
Please note: to provide a greater level of security to our competition entrants, the EJ12 Girl Hero team have decided to slightly alter the entry process.
To enter the competition and be eligible to win a prize, you will need to:
- Have your parent or guardian email their consent for your participation in the competition to info@ej12girlhero.com.
- Have your parent or guardian give their permission for the EJ12 Girl Hero Team to upload your trailer entry to our Youtube EJ12 Girl Hero Team Channel for use in the competition and promotion. This is a public gallery.
- Name the trailer first with: “EJ12 Girl Hero Book Trailer Entry”. Then insert the name you would like to give your video. For example: “EJ12 Girl Hero Book Trailer Entry: [INSERT YOUR OWN BOOK TRAILER NAME HERE]“.
- Send a copy of your trailer file to info@ej12girlhero.com by email. If the file size is too large to email, please send it on a disc by post to:
EJ12 Girl Hero Trailer Comp, PO Box 499, Elwood VIC.
Once the EJ12 Girl Hero Team receives your entry we will upload it to the EJ12 Girl Hero Youtube Channel. You can then ask your family and friends to vote for your trailer!
